Chicken keeping the natural way

by essentiallysoaps @ 2008-09-22 - 15:57:29

I have 10 chickens which are all kept in a large shed which is in a fenced pen to keep them safe from foxes. They are let out in to the garden every day from 9.00am until 5.00pm to scratch around for worms & bugs.
I feed them a natural feed with marigold extract, corn &  all my vegetable scrapes which I boil up & add a little  stale bread to.
I do not use any sprays or chemicals just natural essential oils to clean out the hen house & I also use natural fossilised algae to dust them for spider mite & lice.
In return they each lay me one lovely golden egg a day.
My neighbours all send along their vegetable scrapes & in return they are rewarded with eggs.
My girls give me a lot of pleasure

The great escapeThe great escape
The great escape Come on others are waiting
